In a little less than a week, I’m going to be pulling off (hopefully, without a hitch) my second styled shoot in less than 3 and a half months! Read about my last styled shoot, at the Brant Beach Yacht Club, here and here.) A styled shoot is something along the lines of a fake wedding. I love doing them, because they help me to hone my craft. I get to theme a wedding, where I’m limited only by my own creativity. I get to work with other wedding professionals. And we all get the opportunity to create a “wedding” that showcases our best work and our most creative solutions.
This styled shoot is going to feature the amazing work of Alex Peterson, Idalia Photography. Elizabeth from The Updo Guru is providing hair and makeup. Kelli from Wanderlove Press is designing custom invitations, menu and program designs, as well doing the calligraphy for the invitation envelopes. And Sara Malbari, from Sweets by Sara, is creating the perfect cake.
And get this!!! For this one I’m doing all the flowers! I’m so excited. I placed my flower order last Friday and I can not wait to see them when they show up on Friday. I’ll be working on the centerpieces and garland on Sunday, and then Monday morning, before embarking on the 2-hour drive to the Lake Valhalla Club in Mahwah, NJ, I will create a gorgeous hand-tied organic bridal bouquet. I can not wait to show you the finished product. Get ready for lots of pictures this week of styled shoot teasers.
In the meantime, I thought that I would share with you the inspiration board I created for the shoot. It’s a summer lake-front wedding. The colors: Dark pink (think raspberry), green and white, with lots of copper accents. Imagine copper wine glasses, hammered copper table settings, crystal candle sticks, antique furniture, a hammered copper table number, copper bowls for the centerpiece.
